One of the best things about Camping L’Hippocampe is it’s close proximity to a wonderful sandy beach. At around 1km away, the beach is easily reachable and provides the perfect place for families to enjoy a day at the seaside. Those not keen on walking will love the fact there’s a mini train which will pick you up right outside the campsite and drop you off at the beach!

Although fairly small Camping L’Hippocampe offers visitors a great range of facilities and activities including a great swimming pool complex with 2 heated pools, a jacuzzi and some water slides. Other on site activities include a variety of sports including football, tennis, basketball and even archery.

Camping L’Hippocampe has a sister site, La Sirene which is located across the road. The great thing about this is that you’re able to utilise the wide range of facilities, activities and evening entertainment which are available at La Sirene whilst staying at the quieter and more relaxed Camping L’Hippocampe offering you the best of both worlds.

La Ferme de Decouverte

La Ferme de Decouverte can be found near to Saint Andre which is just 5 km to the west of Camping L’Hippocampe. Visitors to La Ferme de Decouverte have the chance to discover 300 different animals on a 3 hectare sized farm, near to Saint Andre. This wonderful farm offers visitors the chance to interact with over 300 different animals on a 3 hectare farm including birds, pigs, horses, donkeys, goats, deer, rabbits, geese and ducks. You’ll also find it’s possible to bottle feed some of the newly born lambs or go on a pony ride. On the farm you’ll discover all about farming and there are also a variety of quizzes, games and mazes to explore along with a playground and karting track to ensure you have a fantastic day out.

Canyoning Park

If you’ve every fancied trying canyoning then the Canyoning Park in Argeles sur Mer is a place you may wish to visit. Linked to the Argeles Adventure high rope course, Canyoning Park can be found just 1km to the southwest of Camping L’Hippocampe campsite. The park is a highly unique water park which is suitable for anyone over the age of 8 and offers a secure and controlled artificial place where they can have the opportunity to experience the thrills and excitement of canyoning. Canyoning Park boasts a whole range of pools, jumps, rope ladders, nets, toboggans and a thrilling 100m zip line for you to enjoy. All of the safety equipment is provided along with an experienced instructor to guide you through the course.
Tickets can be bought for just the Canyoning Park or Argeles Adventure by themselves or as a joint ticket and you’ll also find a great picnic area and shop selling hot and cold drinks, salads, pizzas and sandwiches.

Luna Park

Luna Park is a wonderful fun fair amusement park which is great for all the family and can be found just 1km away from Camping L’Hippocampe.
Within Luna Park you’ll discover a wonderful array of rides and amusements such as the big wheel, bumper cars, merry go rounds and much more. The park is open from 8:30pm each evening and there are a variety of things to do for all ages of the family. Luna Park covers an area of around 1 hectare and prices are what you’d expect from such an attraction. If you and your kids love the thrill, noise and fun of an amusement park then Luna Park is the place to go for an evening of fun, laughter and enjoyment.

Argeles Adventure

We’ve already mentioned Argeles Adventure as it’s twinned with the Canyoning Park just 1km to the south of Camping L’Hippocampe. Like the Canyoning Park, Argeles Adventure offers a great day out for all the family. This brilliant high rope adventure playground offers visitors the chance to test themselves on one of the many high rope courses. You’ll find a variety of courses at Argeles Adventure which are suitable for a range of ages and abilities including a specific area just for 2-4 year olds. The main courses offer a brilliant range of sections filled with bridges, jumps, swings and zip lines.
Entry prices to the course are quite reasonable with tickets available for one or both parks. Facilities at the park include a picnic area and restaurant which sells a variety of sandwiches, salads and pizzas along with hot and cold drinks.
