Although the range of activities at Camping La Chapelle are not as extensive as other campsites in the region, we’re sure you’ll love the campsite because of it’s great swimming pool complex.

On your arrival at the campsite, children are instantly drawn to the swimming pool complex. There are four swimming pools with a selection of water slides for those over 1m tall.

The nearby beach is perfect for a bit of family fun. Relax with a bit of sunbathing, splash around in the water, build sandcastles or play beach games, the choice is yours!.

Those after a little more excitement will find a lot to do in Argeles. There are plenty of water sports available and a selection of bars, restaurants and cafes to explore and for that little bit of extra fun we recommend a trip to Aqualand water park which is located at St Cyprien.

Argeles Adventure

If you’re looking for a spot of adventure and excitement whilst camping in the south of France then a trip to Argeles Adventure should be on your list! Just 3km to the north of Camping La Chapelle campsite, Argeles Adventure offers a great day out. This wonderful adventure playground offers a variety of high wire courses for all ages and abilities. Those younger children aged 2-4 will find an area specifically designed for them to have fun. Meanwhile those aged over 5 will find a brilliant range of courses with 120 sections filled with swings, bridges, jumps and zip lines.
Entry prices to the course are quite reasonable. The facilities at the park include a picnic area and restaurant which sells a variety of food and drink.

Collioure

Collioure lies just 8km to the southeast of Camping La Chapelle campsite. It is an extremely popular place to visit whilst camping in the south of France. This wonderfully picturesque village is just 15km from the border with Spain. It has seen many famous artists visit it in the past due to it’s wonderful scenery and pretty painted, quaint fishing cottages.
There’s plenty for visitors to see at Collioure including the Chateau Royal de Collioure and the church of Notre Dame des Angers.
The church is located at one end of the harbour on a small headland. The stunning castle lies at the other and offers visitors some wonderful photo opportunities. Built in the 13th Century the Chateau was once home to both the Knights Templars and the Kings of Majorca. The views of the village and surrounding areas from the Chateau are quite impressive and with such reasonable entry prices you’d be silly not to visit.

Aqualand St Cyprien

Slides, chutes and a great amount of watery fun await you at Roussillon’s largest water park, Aqualand at St Cyprien, located just 6km to the north of Camping La Chapelle campsite. If you love the thrill of water slides you really should make this one of your top places to visit whilst in the south of France. There are many Aqualand water parks throughout France and Spain. Therefore if you’ve been to an Aqualand water park before you’ll know exactly what to expect. You’ll find a comprehensive range of pools, chutes and slides suitable for all different ages.
There’s a lazy river, a jacuzzi, inflatable water slide, twisty slides and many more but to name just a few.
As you’d expect with a water park of this type and size, admission prices are fairly high and please remember that in high season it may become quite busy. Having said this if you love water parks and slides, Aqualand is well worth a visit.

Castelnou

A trip to this wonderful region of France is not complete without a trip to Castelnou. This wonderful medieval village is one of the most beautiful villages in France. Many of the medieval buildings within this wonderful village are superbly preserved. As you approach the village it will fill anyone interested in history with a sense of amazement and wonder. The streets of the village are lined with wonderful properties. Meanwhile the ramparts and towers that remain along with the 10th Century castle provide some amazing photo opportunities. It’s possible to visit the castle where you’ll be able to find out more about life in medieval times and there’s also a wonderful local market during the summer months where you can buy all sorts of produce.
Within the village you’ll also find a variety of quaint art and craft shops where you can buy a few traditional souvenirs.
