There is plenty to see in Collioure including the church of Notre Dame des Anges, the Chateau Royal de Collioure (castle) and the old fishing village. Many of the quaint cottages are painted in a variety of colours which has led to a variety of artists visiting Collioure over the years.
The church is at the northern edge of the harbour, on a small headland and boasts a wonderfully ornate alter. The Chateau Royal de Collioure is located at the other end of the beach and is quite a sight. It was constructed in the 13th Century and was home to both the Templars and also the Kings of Majorca.
