A short distance from the campsite lies the south Brittany coastline. Here you can find a multitude of fine sandy beaches, coves, fishing villages and harbours waiting to be explored. The nearest beach to the campsite is Tahiti-Raquénez, is lies just 900 metres away from the campsite and can be reached easily by foot or bicycle. A little further afield there are a great number of other beaches for you to visit. The majority of the beaches are covered in lovely soft sand. Search the rock pools for a variety of sea creatures or build sandcastles, the choice is yours!

La Zone de L’Hippo

If you’re looking for a bit of fun on a rainy day, why not try La Zone de L’Hippo. It is located just 37km to the north west of the campsite just outside Quimper. This cracking little indoor play area has many different types of apparatus for children to play on. It is especially popular with families who have younger children due to the activities on offer. Activities on offer at La Zone L’Hippo include a bouncy castle, slides, ball pool, trampolines and much more.

Qumiperle

Quimperle is a lovely little town which is located 27km to the east of the campsite. There are two distinct parts of the town with the older section lying near to the river. Here you will find some traditional Breton medieval half timber houses and the 12th century Abbey Sainte Croix. The town is well worth a visit if you’re in the area providing an insight into Breton culture and history as well as some great photo opportunities. You’ll also find some wonderful shops, restaurants and cafes in the town.

Pont Aven

Pont Aven can be found 10km to the north of the campsite and is well known as an artists town. Once a thriving mill town and port Pont Aven is now a wonderful place to spend some time. Relax and walk around the town along the beautiful riverbanks. Many artists have painted the town and surrounding area including the famous artist Gauguin and as such there are several guided tours which will take you to the areas of the town which inspired them. There are many photographic opportunities at Pont Aven and if you’re looking to take a little piece of it home with you why not visit one of the many galleries and pick up a future masterpiece!

Zoo de Pont Scorff

The Zoo de Pont Scorff is a brilliant family day out and is located only 44km to the east. Children and families love animals and this zoo will give you a truly wonderful day out. There are in excess of 600 animals at the zoo some of which include hippos, rhinos, lions, elephants, panthers and giraffes. There are even a variety of different animal shows which run throughout the day to ensure see the animals in their full glory.

Concarneau

A must visit for anyone camping here is the port of Concarneau. This popular tourist destination can be found 16km to the east of the campsite and is one of the most photographed ports in France. Made up of two distinct parts, Carcarneau has a modern area featuring a variety of shops and building and then the “Ville Close” which is the walled medieval area which dates back to the 14th century. The port is most famous for the wonderful medieval buildings and walls along with the fact it is one of France’s most important fishing ports. Thousands of fish are landed at Concarneau each year and you can find out more about the ports fishing history by visiting it’s museum which can be found in the “Ville Close”.
